People Training People

Gregory Miller & Company brings old-fashioned, personal attention to your newfangled needs. You want your people to master their software - not vice versa. We do too. So we strive to humanize your technology, making it understandable firm-wide and relevant to each individual.

eLearning, CBT's and written documentation serve their purposes. But workers still need questions answered; sometimes via a spontaneous give and take which machinery is incapable of supplying. That natural interaction is what we enjoy most.

You know how software upgrades wreak havoc on your firm's central nervous system. We understand what you're going through because we've been there so many times ourselves. In fact, that's about the only time we're there: at times of change when the stress intensifies at every level of the organization. Our relaxed approach creates a buffer relieving some of the pressure not only for the end users but also for the IT folks who have to make it all work.

What Are We?

Gregory Miller & Company, a New York based software training company, is a boutique firm specializing in law firms, financial institutions and corporations. We handle major conversion projects as well as basic upgrades. Firms that want close individual attention for their users as well as their in-house tech staffs choose us. Our expert input frequently begins in the project planning phase, continues to template/macro development and carries right on through the training and support phases.

Who Are We?

We are highly experienced, creative folks whose calm demeanors and imaginative approaches convey the information you need. We hire trainers we trust; then let them train. We oversee without micromanaging.

Many of our trainers possess numerous certifications. We don't hold that against them. Yet, if prospective trainers have the paperwork but not the personality, we don't hire them. If they have the personality but not the knowledge, we can't hire them. We require both.

Therefore, Greg Miller has yet to hire any trainer with whom he has not worked directly in some capacity. His hands-on selection process reduces personnel unknowns to a bare minimum. And it results in maximum client satisfaction.

We know what you need to know.
We'd like to share it with you.

Learning new software requires considerable time. Recognizing its abundant quirks and bugs requires even more. We've spent the time . . .We continue to spend the time . . . And that saves you time.

Greg Miller and his fellow trainers bring a wealth of personal, on-site experience to your workplace. We also compile and share with you our ongoing databases of solutions not documented by the software manufacturers. So as a newer client you benefit, at no additional cost, from the frustrations and revelations we've amassed helping others.

Our Clients

We specialize in law firms and legal departments, but we are equally at home in financial institutions and corporate environments. Gregory Miller & Company conducted the project planning, training and floor support for major WordPerfect-to-Word XP conversions at Bryan Cave/Robinson Silverman and Hawkins, Delafield & Wood in 2002. These projects included iManage, DocsOpen, Outlook, Excel, DeltaView, SoftWise and Microsystems DocXStyles.

Our 2002 commitments carried us beyond our New York home to Washington, Hartford, Newark, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Sacramento. Last year also found us performing smaller training/support projects in Microsoft Office 2000/2002, iManage, DocsOpen and Visio at Sonnenschein, Nath & Rosenthal; Kirkland & Ellis; Morrison & Foerster; and Darby & Darby.

2003 has so far found us producing HTML and WebHelp documentation at Thacher, Proffitt & Wood, Lotus Notes 6 training at Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton, Office XP training and support at Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal, InterAction training at Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, and Office XP training and support at Bryan Cave.

Documentation

Who absorbs everything the first time they hear it? Not us. Not anyone we've ever met.

So, once training and support have concluded, our quick reference cards leave you with something substantial to hang onto. Our on-line, HTML reference materials will speak (sometimes literally) for themselves.

Project Planning and Consultation

Our considerable experience with software upgrades and conversions has exposed us to many different approaches - some successful, some not so successful - for dealing not only with decision making regarding software features such as styles and templates, but also with the p.r. aspects of selling the end-users on the positive aspects of the new software. We bring to you much accumulated insight regarding the repercussions of certain choices you might make regarding your software customizations. The number of consultation days and the level of our involvement are of course completely up to you. But our input in the early stages of such determinations proves quite valuable even as you yourselves make all final decisions.
